Ogof Draenen Round Trip 14/04/2024 and 21/04/2024

These were two trips, one for maintenance, and one Round Trip, within a couple of weeks, but since they work well together, they have been combined as a single gallery.

Unless otherwise stated, camera, setups, lighting, edits and gallery effects by Tarquin. Modelling and lighting at various points will be Steph Andrews and Paris Oomadath.

  1. A pair of roe deer near the entrance (the second is behind the branch on the right), the first time I have ever seen them in this area. Modelling by Prancer and Vixen
  2. At the end of Darling Rifts, an awkward rope climb drops down to this large chamber. This sits directly above the ruckle in Upstream Passage. Routes around or under the boulder on the right give access to the way on, which leads to Big Bang Pitch, but on the left, beside the source of the choke, is a connection to the end of Psammodus Passage.   3. Top of Big Bang Pitch, the original way into the cave, accessed via a 15 metre ladder. Modelling by Steph, lighting by Tarquin and Steph
  4. Vermiculations in Psammodus Passage.
  5. Fossil in Psammodus Passage. It is too worn to recognise what it is, but it will be a shark fossil, like all of the others here.
  6. Another fossil in Psamodus Passage. This looks like a cross section through a bone, but the dimples could be a Psammodus tooth plate.
  7. Patterns on the rock in Psammodus Passage.
  8. Formation in Pitch Bypass, where the usual route is to change from the bedding to the rift. Lighting by Paris and Steph
  9. Laminated mud in the oxbow near Cairn Junction.

  16. Ochre minerals in the stream at Haggis Basher Number One.
  17. The early part of Agent Blorenge which can be bypassed by Chocolate Blorenge. Modelling by Steph, lighting by Tarquin and Paris
  18. Textured mud formations on manganese in Beyond A Choke, immediately upstream of The Confluence. It almost seems furry.
