Ogof Craig a Ffynnon Hall Of The Mountain King trip 05/05/2021

Unless otherwise stated, camera, setups, lighting, edits and gallery effects by Tarquin. Modelling and lighting at various points will be Noah Wilton-Jones.

  1. Looking out of the entrance, over the Clydach Gorge towards the Llanelly Hill village of Waunllapria, my childhood home. Modelling by Noah
  2. Gate to the cave, with one of the most clunky locks.
  3. Remains of a lesser horseshoe bat in the second chamber. I'm sure it's only a flesh wound. Modelling by the Black Knight
  4. The third chamber, with its profuse straws. Modelling by Noah
  5. Third chamber. Modelling by Noah
  6. The wet crawl in Gasoline Alley. Modelling by Noah, lighting by Tarquin and Noah
  7. Ladder to Second Choke. Modelling by Noah, lighting by Tarquin and Noah
  8. Footplate climb to Second Choke. This used to have just a chain, which was so much more fun, since there are very few holds, and you had to scramble your way up there anyway. Modelling by Noah, lighting by Tarquin and Noah
  9. An early part of Second Choke. Modelling by Noah and Tarquin's wellies, lighting by Tarquin and Noah
  10. Nearly at the end of Second Choke. Modelling by Noah
  11. Done. Just ... done. Modelling by Noah
  12. Formations in the big fossil passage beyond Second Choke. Modelling by Noah, lighting by Tarquin and Noah
  13. Straws and carrots, including one straw that has managed to snap and attach itself back together again a couple of times.
  14. Iconic set of formations, like something from a textbook. One of the straws could be heard to made a gurgling noise every 15 seconds, as it filled up with water then drained rapidly. Guess it must have had a leak. Modelling by Noah, lighting by Tarquin and Noah
  15. Travertine Passage, a very grand passage with travertine (calcite) gour pools and straws. Modelling by Noah, lighting by Tarquin and Noah
  16. Walking up the gour pools. This is one of the most magical places. Modelling by Noah, lighting by Tarquin and Noah
  17. Hall Of The Mountain King, with its grand, continental formations. Modelling by Noah, lighting by Tarquin and Noah
  18. The tightest part of Hurricane Highway, the way onwards to Severn Tunnel. We only went this far to see what it was like, and had no intention of going further, so this is where we turned around. Modelling by Noah, lighting by Tarquin and Noah
