Yordas Cave trip 23/10/2021
These pictures were taken suring a survey training course. Since we were not geared up for a proper caving trip, we could not complete the cave, and instead, we stuck only to the part that used to be a showcave.
Unless otherwise stated, camera, setups, lighting, edits and gallery effects by Tarquin. Modelling and lighting at various points will be Alastair Gott, Bill Booth, Simon Willatts, John Crae, Gwenllian Tawy, Julian Walford, Joe White, Andrew Atkinson, Andrew McLeod and Nick Bairstow.

The downstream end of the enormous Main Chamber, which was once the main attraction (or only attraction) of the show cave, which had guided tours from 1780 through the 1800s. Amazingly, this chamber almost filled with debris after a flood in 1817, and was excavated partly by a tour guide, and partly naturaly.

The lower step of the Chapter House waterfall that comes from the upper entrances.
The waterfall is a common SRT training exercise, with technical rigging to avoid a soaking. The modern through trip from Yordas Pot only became possible in 1963, when the entrance was uncovered by a storm blowing over the tree that covered it.
