Closing the Loop
The backbone of the teddy bear. Or is it a Scottie dog?
The Boyne (famed for the Battle of the Boyne) at Navan.
Looking back to Tara.
*Cough*. Yes, the 'Kill' prefix is great for names like this, and let's not forget Killbride, or the infamous (OMG) Kilkenny.
Dublin, the industrial mess. Visited enough times already, and don't wish to go back. In Dublin's smoggy city, where the streets are so gritty, I first set my eyes on the Guinness brewery.
Celtic cross cenotaph at Bray.
Great Sugar Loaf (501 metres), the start of the Wicklow Mountains.
Most of the Wicklow mountains seen from the road are just boring lumps like this.
However, there are a couple of glimpses of Lugnaquilla (924 metres), the tallest in the range. Its height is enough to make this the third tallest mountain range in Ireland, though the mountain itself is only the 13th tallest mountain overall.
Croghan Mountain (606 metres), an obvious shaped mountain that is visible from Rosslare.
Back to Tara. Again. Tara Hill (251 metres) this time.
Mount Leinster (796 metres), tallest of the Blackstairs Mountains.
Ballybaun (512 metres).
Ferns Castle.
Ferrycarrig Gorge round tower at Wexford, built as a Crimean War cenotaph.
Now you know why Irish drivers don't understand speed limits.
Path to Rosslare Beach.
Rosslare Beach.
Dune grass.
Outwash patterns.
Sand arch and stack. Really.
Ladybird hitching a lift on the ferry.
Entertainment.
Volcanic intrusions. Back in Wales, end of holiday. Hope you enjoyed that.
