A quick visit to Oslo

• The view from our hotel balcony (a "low-cost" hotel ... with en-suite ... a heated floor ... cable TV ... and our own kitchen)
• Slottsparken, just outside our hotel
• A child not paying enough respect to a camera ;)
• The "castle" in the park - message to all Vikings; this is not a castle
• The tram (city train) - one of the most common forms of transport in Oslo
• One of several sailing ships in Oslofjorden
• A fountain (normally) in the Vigeland sculpture park
• Some details of the tree sculptures around the fountain
• The tower in the Vigeland sculpture park
• Some detail of the smaller sculptures around the tower
• The steps up to the final human ring in the Vigeland sculpture park
• The view across the Vigeland sculpture park towards Oslo
• The frozen lakes in the Vigeland sculpture park
• This building must have some significance or I wouldn't have photographed it - or maybe it was the crane ...
• And this doorway, with the only bit of graffiti I saw in Oslo

That evening, we ate at a cafe run by the Bondeheimen hotel chain. Pardon my crudeness, but allow me to explain. That is pronounced 'bond-a-hymen'. For those of you that still don't understand, bond means to stick something together, like with glue. As for hymen ... well, get a dictionary.

• That night, it snowed. Especially for me :)
• Yep, it's the white stuff alright. It's called snow - repeat after me, SSSNNNNOOOOWWW
• A Viking ship uncovered by archeological digs
• And what do you know? Another one!
• Oslofjorden - the Oslo fjord, looking towards Oslo
• Fram, the ice-breaker - holds the record for the furthest distance travelled both North and South by any ship
• And yes, in Norway, they have a lot of oceanic heritage
• Ra II at the Kon-Tiki museum - a recreation reed boat (this is the one that didn't sink)
