Lizard Point
The southern Cornish coast.
Lizard Point is the most southerly part of mainland Britain. Unlike many other famous parts of Cornwall, it is not very commercial - or at least, substantially less commercial than others. Unfortunately we were not promised great weather for this week, so when it turned out to be nice, we hurried there to get some pictures. The rest of the world seemed to agree, and we joined the queue of traffic. Fortunately, most of them were aiming for the town of Lizard, which was holding an event relating to old cars. The point itself was relatively quiet.

The coast under the lighthouse.
Lizard Point lifeboat launch. And in case you missed the fact that the end of it is missing, it is out of service.
Offshore crags.

Green horizon.
Small cove.
A narrow path, leading down to the shore.

Blue cleft.
Reflections.
Limpet.
Curvy rock.
Shiny rock on the shore. Perhaps it is tin.
I took this aiming for the sailing boat moving past the crags, but as it turns out, I also managed to snap two seals coming up for air in the foreground (the two black specs level with the flag).
Words not needed.
Lizard Point. On the left is the car park, then the lighthouse, followed by the imaginitively named tiny village (Norwegian city?) of Lizard Point, then the tidal islands of the point itself.

The lighthouse. Originally it would have had fire beacons on both towers.
Inside the lighthouse, with a lens in the front, standby generators in the back, and the all-important Opera Software cap on Becci.

Just down the coast is the breathtaking Mullion Cove.
The coast is much the same as elsewhere.
But the tiny village layout and the sunset are so beautiful.
Launching rock.
Just can't get enough of that sunset.
One last picture of the streamers.
