Back in Kathmandu 1986

Back again, at the end of the trek.

Before we left Nepal, we took a short trip to a vantage point (probably near Nagarkot), where we could see across 100 miles (160 KM) of white capped ridges. In the far distance, one tiny triangle amongst hundreds, was Sagarmatha (सगरमाथा). You will probably know it as Mount Everest, or perhaps by its Tibetan name of Chomolungma (ཇོ་མོ་གླང་མ). At 8848 metres, it is the tallest mountain in the World, with its summit sitting on the border between Nepal and Tibet. Sadly the picture collection did not have any images of it, but at least my eyes have seen it.
