From Cardiff, take the A470 to Dolgellau. From Dolgellau, take the A494 towards Bala. Take the first proper road on the left, signposted into Dolgellau. Take the first road on the right, signposted to Llanfachreth. Just after a large parking area on the left with a stone toilet block, turn left, signposted to Hermon. After a mile, park in the Pandy forestry parking area on the right (disabled badge holders can park a little further down the road). SH 7442 2244.
Head down the road from the parking area (to the right). After a short distance, pass the first disabled parking area on the right. Shortly after that, pass a gate and the second disabled parking area on the left. The Llam yr Ewig waterfall lies directly under the bridge after that, and can be seen from the edge of the second disabled parking area, or from the bridge. There is also a cascade just upstream that can also be seen from the road.
The gate leads down a track to the Glasdir Mines site. Beyond that, the track leads down to a road. Turn right on that road, then right at the next junction (the junction can be bypassed by taking a path through the picnic site). Turn right at the next junction and follow it back to the bridge, and from there back to the parking area.
As an optional route extension, the first disabled parking area has a path leading into the Forest Garden Discovery Trail, an all-ability trail, which also includes a viewpoint over the cascade above Llam yr Ewig.
As another optional route extension, shortly after passing through the first gate towards the Glasdir Mine, experienced visitors can head up to the left, to reach the edge of fields. Keep close to the fields (but on the public side of the boundary) to reach an upper track. Turn left to reach a small waterall at the edge of the fields.
