Heat cable calculator

Calculate heat cable

Heat cable is an electrical wire that warms up like a heat mat. It is often used for heating reptile enclosures, and as electric under-floor heating in bathrooms. This calculator helps you work out an efficient way of wrapping a heat cable into a rectangular area, to create an even amount of heat across that area. Give it the dimensions of the area you want to fill, the details of your heat cable, and then change where the cable should start, the padding and the number of rows, to see how well your cable will be able to fit in that area. The results at the bottom will help adjust the configuration to fit the cable into the area
