Including Afon Tarennig.
From Cardiff, take the A470 to the Llangurig roundabout. From Llangurig, take the first turnoff (left) at the roundabout, onto the A44 towards Aberystwyth. At Eisteddfa Gurig, the highest point on the road, park in the dedicated parking area on the right. SN 7979 8406.
Although they can be visited directly, the waterfalls are best seen as part of the Pumlumon mountain walk (stupidly written as Plynlimon in English, but it should have been Pimlimon as that's how it sounds in Welsh). From the parking area head along the lane between the houses into the farm yard. Turn right and take the track that heads out of the farm yard, which immediately splits. To the right is a shortcut to the waterfalls, ignoring the mountain top (stop when reaching the mine buildings), but the main walk is to the left. Follow the track uphill, taking the left branch when it forks 100 metres after a barn on the left. It reaches a forest and turns right along the forest edge. Follow it as it eventually leaves the forest edge, and turns into a well-worn path following a fenceline up the mountain. The top (the highest point in Mid Wales) is marked by a trigpoint and a series of windbreak shelters.
From the top, a poorly defined path heads down on a bearing of about 160°, to reach a series of mining buildings in the Tarennig valley after 1.5 km. From there the track continues down the right bank of the river, passing the Afon Tarennig waterfalls on the way. It eventually reaches the junction of tracks by the farm, ending the route.
