Trip report
Description by Mark 'Tarquin' Wilton-Jones
The purpose of this trip was to take pictures of the route through Cardiff, and to test out the replacement parts for my bike after the disastrous last trip. Starting from home, through the Whitchurch Hospital grounds then down the slope and to the left, to pick up the Taff Trail.
Past the water wheel, and along the road towards the playing fields.
Through the playing fields (watching out for a gazillion dogs), and along the river bank, watching the rowing boats.
Across the Blackwier suspension bridge, and along the river bank.
Past loads of rowers and canoeists. Then crossing the Clarence Bridge before turning around.
Back along the Taff Trail, but this time all the way to the M4 bridge. Then up the steep slope, and along the paths back home.
One very positive thing about this trip was noticing that the council have made the excellent decision to remove all the hurdles along the Taff Trail through Cardiff. This means it is now possible to use a bike trailer through Cardiff. This is a major victory for those of us who use them. Thankyou Cardiff County Council.
