Riding history
Grew up at the Abergavenny end of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Did a few road rides in the local area, as well as some short off-road rides on a Raleigh Grifter.
Cycled about 2 miles (max) to university every day for about a year until a 30 mph crash on a road damaged his knee and his bike. Occasionally cycled 5 miles to work along the Taff Trail in spring and summer, for the first year using the Falcon Warrior then later the Apollo Terra. Now doing proper off-road cycling using the GT LTS 2000 (TWJ).
Important points
After getting pneumonia in the first year of university, he had not been able to do much anaerobic exercise without suffering from chest pain, but has mostly shaken this off now. Still suffers from a knee injury sustained while walking in Norway, although this is not normally affected by bike riding.
Other interests
Caving and computers mainly, playing guitar as well as a bit of climbing.
